I've suspected it's Trump from the beginning and, while I exect to be wrong (I often am!) I am intrigued by this new info. I think it'd be hilarious if these hot-shots are utterly humiliated and then find out it was Trump behind it, after all.

Maybe for a definitive answer we should play the theme song to "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss" backward on a turntable -- if we hear The O'Jays singing the theme song to The Apprentice then we'll know it's Trump!!!

I think the name N. Paul Todd being an anagram for Donald Trump is not a coincidence. I think the producers did this inentionally, but not because Trump has anything to do with this show, but because they wanted to parody Trump and the Apprentice.
THis is a clever joke and I don't think we are supposed to believe that Trump is the behind the scenes guy.
Then again, you never know.
