I think Randi is actually starting to like Steve, not romantically but he is growing on her.

They're making a huge deal out of that objection thing.. so it probably happens. Maybe they talk to the Dad or something before the wedding and tell him all of what's been going on and say they want him to object and they'll get the money anyway or something.
