Can Someone Explain Why The "Twist" Is A Twist?

Okay, I didn't see the first episode (I'll catch it tonight), so there's a chance I missed something that was explained.

But, from what I understand, the show involves Steve and his family being actors, so he's not really this "obnoxious" guy.

However, why is that a twist? Whether he's an actor or not, she knows she has to put up with hell to get to the altar for the money.

I just don't see why Steve being an actor is a twist.

Probably cause she doesn't know he's an actor.

My first knee-jerk response to this was, "Because it's Rocket Science" the production company that brought us Joe Millionaire, Temptation Island and other crappy fox fare.

Since Randi supposes this is truly reality tv, and believes she's been saddled with the worst humanity has to offer in order to win her reality TV prize, the second 'twist' is on her, when it is eventually revealed that Steve is an actor.

The first twist, of course, being that her family will find out her selection of a mate was a complete farce.

But since this is Fox, and Rocket Science, (I don't know, saying those two things in the same sentance cracks me up) I'm sure other twists await.

I think I know what you are saying yeahyeah, but it tells me that you've become numb after being bombarded with one too many reality TV 'twists'

Perhaps you should go on a 'journey' and try to find a 'connection'

(I'm not picking fun at you at all yeahyeah, just the genre')

It truly is AMAZINGGggg when you finally find that special twist in a reality show! It's like a dream come true!

(Not teasing either..just adding to the genre')

I am still looking for a real twist, something pulled on the actor. One twist just isn't enough anymore.

What if the ceremony they went through were REAL! Real minister or justice of peace or licensed person performing the ceremony ... and at the end "Guess what, kids ... This is reality tv and this marriage is REAL!"

Now that would be a killer twist.

I guess they could have Randi start saying it's fake, but they KEEP going through with the ceremony and she freaks out.

Well, it won't be a real wedding, because Steve is married "in real life".

Ah!, but John, she does not know that Steve is married and if there is a real official there she will still think they are married until told otherwise. Hehe. Way too twisty!
