| OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, that would be an interesting twist, waypast40. I LIKE the way you think. Fox, you may have a new reality tv show concept here.

| Maybe it's just me, but I was trying to put myself in Steve's shoes (Steve the character, not Steve the actor). It seems to me that he would EVENTUALLY be a little turned off by her constant "Too-Good-For-You"-ness. The rolling of the eyes. The putting her face in her hands, etc. If "Steve" were real - at some point he's going to say, "Hey - we're in this for the money, but you don't have to go acting all stuck up on me all the time." Wouldn't he? Steve the actor has not yet picked up on that at all.

| Well, I am not sure since she is of the position that they have to convince HER family she is in love w/him and her family isn't going to be fooled by a guy who is 100% not what she would go for in some way. Looks aside I am sure her family can get past that he isn't her "type" but they probably know her well enough to know she wouldn't go for a slob, who is rude and obnoxious.. Who knows it will be fun finding out! |

![]() Why am I having visions of National Lampoon's "Animal House"? ![]() This does seem really unfair to her family. I couldn't put my family through something like this.....Oh wait, okay my last boyfriend doesn't count. ![]() I'm gonna give it a shot.

LoveEmAll...got room in that tiny corner of the room for me? I watched this show with two other friends, all of us set up for a night of Reality TV: Idol, Fiancee and AJoe2. At the half way point of MBFOF, the three of us exchanged glances and said....nothing!!! I found the show cruel, base and humiliating. If Randi were "in" on the joke, then, and only then could we continue to watch it, because it would be funny seeing HER act around her family. But, to "reward" the appalling behaviour that Steve is portraying...this show is just too cruel for my tastes and my friends. And Poor Randi! She's no more 'greedy' than any other contestant on a reality show that gives you money, vs. a spouse. I admire the fact that she even stuck it out for the first showing. I wouldn't have and would have gone 'off' on him, making it necessary for FOX to recast the show. It reminded me of a Judge Mathius(sp) show from last week: where a 40 year old Uncle sued his 26 year old nephew for being "rude, crude, and lewd," around his family. The 'kid's' favorite thing was to let lose LOUD, SMELLY farts: at the dining room table, in a crowed elevator, etc. The judge heard the case and ended up tearing the 26 year old a 'new one.'! Go Judge! Go Judge! He asked him, "How old are you? How old ARE you? Do you have a girlfriend? Do you think this behavior will GET you a girlfriend?" If that Judge ran into Steve, while in performer mode, he'd give him a Life Sentence. I'm glad that this show is so offensive to us: it gives us a nice hour break between Idol and AJ2!

Amen, museumguy! The highlighted area is what I found really unsettling in the show, but, I couldn't place my finger on what I found so personally disturbing until now. Although so many people think that Steve, as actor, is hilarious in his role, I'm just curious: How many of us would/could put up with him for a solid day if WE didn't know that he was acting? Breaking things, an 'alcoholic' past, the screaming and public 'nudity'? I think that the only reason why he can be so loved by so many is the wonderful distancing effect of having a TV screen between Us and Him...and we only saw him for an HOUR, where Randi has him for 2 weeks. Sorry, they should have given her a MILLION dollars for this role, not the piddly $250,000 that any poorly paid school teacher would covet.

| I loved the show, couldn't stop laughing. Then, I laughed again re-living the show through you guys' comments. ![]() I particularly liked Steve's reference to the masseuse massaging his "back fat." ![]() I don't care whether Randi or her family or anybody else is "in on" the joke. I like Steve's role of the goofy, uncouth frat boy. Even though the character is so annoying, Steve manages to inject a puppy-dog geniality to it that makes it kinda endearing. Just like Belushi did with Bluto. And I adore it when Randi can't keep HERSELF from laughing at Steve. And here's where I worry about myself: I like Steve better than the "real" bachelors from the previous "Bachelor" shows. Go figure. ![]() |
