Legendary pop singer Barry Manilow is recovering from a freak accident that left him with a broken nose.
According to The Associated Press, Manilow woke up disoriented in the middle of the night Monday, and walked into a wall at his Palm Springs, Calif., home.
The singer joked Tuesday about a possible operation, saying, "I may have to have my nose fixed and, with this nose, it's going to require major surgery."
His manager says Manilow passed out for four hours after the accident but was OK.
Manilow, 56, has recorded such hits "I Write the Songs," "Mandy," "Tryin' To Get the Feeling Again," "This One's For You" and "Copacabana."
Manilow said he's been in Malibu working with longtime friend and colleague Bette Midler on a Rosemary Clooney tribute album.
