It kind of throws you off when you can hear people dancing...

I think I do recall seeing them last year.

Okay, that shot at Chris Seiber was hilarious.

I am glad I stayed up to watch instead of DVRing. I would have missed the ending.

Ok, the Tony's were worth watching for Jerry Herman getting a award and Neil Patrick Harris's closing number! Thank heaven's Neil's mike worked! And he had to have been writing part of that backstage!

I'm still sad Shrek only won 1 Tony.

Ah, the music from "the Dance at the Gym" gets me every time.
Me too. I always mist up. LOVE WSS. Back in the day (seriously, I'm about to sound like I'm on the porch in a rocker), it was the first ever VHS tape I bought - it was still on two tapes! Incidentally, the second VHS tape I bought was The Breakfast Club. Damn, I'm old. Anyway, that scene from WSS was fantastic. The two leads are really good, especially the girl playing Maria - she's lovely.

    NPH for the sushi joke.

The Billy Elliot boys were cute, but the win seemed more like a stunt. I was hoping Gavin Creel would win for Hair - I just love him.

I actually snort-laughed when Poison was introduced. That's something I never thought I'd see. I missed Bret getting clocked by the set. I'll have to search for it on YouTube.

I am soo hoping this revival of Hair goes on tour. I have been dying to see Hair on stage for a long time.

I was very excited to see Angela Lansbury win her 5th Tony . I am sad that Shrek only got one 1 Tony but it was not the best film to stage adaptation I have ever seen. Lion King just set that bar waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high unfortunately, for me at least.

I missed the beginning of the show last night as the Laker game was still on.
So I missed the whole opening and the Brett Michaels' fall.
Were there sound or other problems going on with the production last night?
In some cases the singers' voices just sounded very off.
I watch the Tonys most every year and this production seemed not as good as others.
Hair is one of my all time favorite shows and the "Hair" number ( I missed the opening one ) was not at all good. It seemed to lack energy, ebullience and good voices singing the main parts. Adam Lambert would do a terrific job here. I hope they put him in the show very soon.
Didn't really like the Guys and Dolls revival either.
WSS was OK but, considering it has somye of the best music ever, it didn't come off that stellar.
Neil Patrick Harris was a terrific host, but I'd have to say that based on most of the numbers I saw last night, I was not motivated to see most of these shows.
And, sadly, I'm someone who grew up back East and saw Broadway shows routinely when growing up. Hopefully, the director / choreographer next year will do a better job.
