I thought I'd start a thread for tonights awards. The red carpet begins in less that an hour. I hope some of you join me.

Power outage won't stop CMA show
Power outage won't stop CMA show

A power outage in downtown Nashville earlier today won’t disrupt tonight’s CMA Awards.
A line going to a transformer only a block from the show’s red carpet caught fire and caused the outage around 10 a.m. Laurie Parker, NES spokeswoman, said some of the area is still without power, but anything associated with tonight’s CMA Awards Show should be back online.

“The Sommet Center is fine. The Schermerhorn (Symphony Center) is back on. The Hilton is back on,” she said. “At one point, we didn’t know if we’d have the traffic lights up, but they are back on.”
She also said tonight’s CMA show has a backup power feed, so it “won’t lose power while on TV.”
Some area businesses, such as the old Broadway National Bank Building, might not have power until tomorrow, Parker said.
Here is a link to The Tennessean that has all of the nominated songs, articles and a live red carpet feed currently. It also will have a running list of the winners as the evening progresses.
They just talked to Darius Rucker on the Red Carpet. He was asked "So who are you meeting tonight that you really want to work with." Without hesitation he said "Carrie Underwood. I'm writing all my songs now for US." He has always been so psyched about her. Lance Smith said, "Well, that's pretty much chart gold right there."
The Red Carpet show is on CMT by the way.
Julianne Hough was really wired up. I thought she would never stop talking. But she sure is cute.
The Wailers are playing with Chesney tonight. And Brad Paisley & Keith Urban will be doing Start a Band Together, should be good.
Brad Paisley and Keith Urban open the show.
Single of the year goes to George Strait, I Saw God Today.![]()
