I think they are involved in litigation right now. Anyone know why Kristen left the group? I know Kristen has some solo albums. She did a duet with Emily Saliers from Indigo Girls that I really like.

I always thought that it was just that she wanted to stay home and write songs. She was tired of the road

I believe she's also a talent scout, of sorts, for a record label.

I wonder if the legal issue is over songs/payment, that kind of thing. She wrote probably all of their songs on that first album.

Depends on which story you hear. One says to pursue a solo career, the other says she didn't portray a "proper" image due to being overweight. Her and Kristian Bush formed the group and asked Nettles to be the lead singer. They intentionally set up the initial meeting with her around 8 or 9 a.m. to see if she was serious enough about the gig to roll out of bed early to meet them.
