Aguilera Gets Real on "Stripped" http://a95.g.akamaitech.net/f/95/578...s/00307160.JPG
First album since 2000 due in October
Christina Aguilera will release Stripped, her first new album in two years, on October 29th. In 2000, the singer released a Spanish-language set, Mi Reflejo, and a Christmas album, My Kind of Christmas, but Stripped will be the proper follow-up to her 1999 multi-platinum self-titled debut.
"This record is definitely my baby," she told Rolling Stone earlier this summer. "Being twenty-one now, I've grown into more of what I feel like as a woman . . . I wanted to make a record that was about me completely. Nothing superficial, no hype, no gloss."
Aguilera worked with producers -- including Linda Perry, the woman behind Pink's 2002 blockbuster Missundaztood -- and chose to give the album a harder, real-life edge. "If you wanted to know what I was up to on my last tour, or even with my last boyfriend," she says, "just listen . . . Even though I've been screwed over by certain people, there's a time where it's like, 'I'm going to show you all.' And it's OK, because I'm going to survive."
