Her name is Ruby Jane Smith. She will be 13 in November. She has a myspace page www.myspace.com/rubyjanesmith. I also found these pictures pics and information about her. It sounds like she has quite a career ahead of her.
Both of those young ladies were truly great musicians. it was great that Big & Rich gave them a chance to play with them. Everybody in the audience loved them & boy did B&R rock the joint. Did anyone else notice that only Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride & Carrie got two songs? Last year it was only Carrie & Brooks & Dunn. Just a quick aside. Wednesday before the Festival actually started there was a welcoming parade & street party downtown where a bunch of the groups showed up to play. These were all scheduled & everything was going along well & then Brooks & Dunn showed up unannounced & played. That is what they showed last night. It was just a stage in the middle of the street & here is one of the biggest acts in Country music playing. You just never know what is going to happen during CMA Music Fest, which is why it is such a great experience. I highly recommend it.
The performers that were left out of last nights show were Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry,Jo Dee Messina, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rodney Adkins, Billy Currington, & Gretchen Wilson.
And they could have left Sara Evans out as well. This poor woman just doesn't seem to be able to sing live. Talk about pitchy, she is the poster child for pitchiness.
