I'd meant to recommend this local (Virginia) band before -- No Speed Limit. Young, talented, they were invited to play at the state capitol when the Queen visited earlier this year.

They're coming out towards you California people in October.

They've announced the lineup for Wintergrass in February 2008 in Tacoma, Washington. I'm really looking forward to it. There are plenty of acts I recognize and have heard before. I've never heard "Trampled by Turtles" but I love the name and hope they live up to it.
Welcome to Wintergrass!

Are you still going to that, Mar? The lineup looks exciting. Seldom Scene are great, and there are several more, and I'd like to see the Duhks. I want a report on Trampled by Turtles.![]()

Thanks, Unk.
Lucy, I'm a fan of the Duhks, too.
I have just been introduced to a group that has been around since 1973 & they are still going strong. Check out their myspace page & listen to some really incredible music. Goose Creek Symphony. I think you'll like em.
Oops. Sorry I missed your post Lucy. As it turned out, we didn't make it this year. Too many other things going on. Trampled by Turtles is non-traditional bluegrass according to a friend who loves them. They are going to be here again soon so we may go see them at the Tractor Tavern (which has a lot of bluegrass shows).Originally Posted by Lucy;2792314;

I'm a fan of the Duhks, also.

I was hoping that by this time someone, anyone, would have given a listen to Goose Creek Symphony & let me know what you think.
