Broadway, Mr. Rose loves the cd so much (Fork in the Road) that it's on a constant loop in his truck. Fortunately for me, I'm not in the truck all that often - I mean, I like their music, too, but don't need to hear it all day, every day. I think they would be terrific in person, though, so I hope you're able to swing it.

I liked the sound of that title song on their myspace, roseskid, so I might try to pick that one up. I also liked both of their older pieces, so....

I have grown up a fan of Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill (love his pickin!), Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Allison Krauss, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (a little more folky country than bluegrass, but they did some bluegrass pieces), and the like. My dad is a huge fan (he can play Allison Krauss nonstop, roseskid, but I agree with you... too much of anything is too much. heh) so I just might have to pick him up something off of this new list.

Did any of you watch the CMA Music Festival special last night? They had this awesome 12 year old fiddle player named Ruby Jane Smith that got to play with Big & Rich. She has also played the Opry a couple of times. You need to check out her myspace page www.myspace.com/rubyjanesmith. There are some other pictures and information here.

Cherryholmes was on the Grand Ol Opry last night. If you didn't get a chance to see them, check the listings for GAC because they should replay it. This family can flat lay it down. The show also included Clint Black & Trisha Yearwood so it is worth watching.

    Re: Bluegrass?

I'll have to check them out, Mariner.

Friday night my sister and I went to see Sam Bush. It was really awesome -- he's barely bluegrassy anymore, although it's the first time I've seen an electric mandolin. Think the Grateful Dead-style jam-band, with a mandolin and banjo. But he and his band were so talented, and it was a very high-energy show.

Lucy. I've never seen Sam, but I've heard good things.

I think you'd like it, Mar. If you can enjoy electric jam-band bluegrass, especially.
