I wonder how they define "newcomer?"
Craig Morgan has had hits for a couple of years now.
I saw him in concert with Billy Dean.
They both put on excellent shows.
I keep waiting for one or the other (or both) to come to my area again.

Anyone notice the lack of nominations for the Dixie Chicks? At least the Country music community took them seriously when they announced they no longer wanted to be associated with the Country Industry. Too bad the Grammy's didn't listen to them. Don't get me wrong, I like the DC, I just didn't think the Grammy's should have put them in all those Country categories.

I believe the ACM's will allow an artist to be nominated two times for an award like best new artist, if they don't win the first time. Craig Morgan lost last year to Jason Aldean & Miranda Lambert lost to Carrie. So if neither wins this year, their availability to be nominated again is gone.

I certainly do like Taylor Swift and would love to see her win. I bought her CD based on the Tim McGraw song and it has spent lots of time in my CD player as I love all the songs on it in particular "Our Song." My daughter made me ~~burn~~ buy her a copy.

Hey BB, you forgot to mention the most successful of all Nashville Star contestants, Miranda Lambert. I believe the Best New Female is hers this year for a few reasons. 1) She lost last year to Carrie 2) This is her last year to be nominated in this category 3) She has been very successful on the charts & on the radio & 4) She is also nominated for Best Female Vocalist.

Kellie & Taylor can both be noiminated again next year so I think this one goes to Ran.
