I completely agree. This modern country crap is just abysmal.
I love the real, old country music.
Hank Williams Sr. was an absolute genius, I think his music transcends genres.
George Jones is also fantastic, and good old Willie Nelson.
I suppose he's the closest thing to a modern country star without sucking.
Honestly, what is this Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney stuff?

Do you have a favourite country musician? Er, do you like country?

I can't stand opposites attract by Paula Abdul. The man singing with her is given credit as an animated character.HUH!? That doesn't make any sense. He was a real person. Can you imagine how mad he must have been, You've got your big break in showbiz, your going to sing with Miss Abdul but we are going to call you MC Cat.

I know that this is stating the obvious, but... that frog song...? (If you Americans don't know what I'm talking about, I say lucky you!) There is also a song about a German crocodile that's all the rage in Europe at the moment. I swear, people's minds go blank the minute summer starts. It's truly frightening to witness what grown-ups are willing to listen to in the summertime.
