| Well, i dunno if this goes here, but I always have to laugh when the local radio station that plays 24/7 christmas songs since a week befor Thanksgiving plays "Seasons of Love" from RENT. NOt that I mind, because I love that song and show, but that is NOT a Christmas song lol.

| My favorites: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (Judy Garland) White Christmas (only the BING!) I can't STAND: All I Want For Christmas is You (Mariah Carey) ICK whatever Christmas related Jessica Simpson song they make me listen to at work. YUCK. I'm more traditional when it comes to holiday music. |

| I cant believe I forgot my favorite! Ertha Kitt's version of Santa Baby, because it rocks so hard. And Ertha Kitt is awesome. My friend and I wanted to sing that in high school, but our choir teacher would let us.

| I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bob Seger performing "Little Drummer Boy". It's one of my all-time favorites, and definitely my all-time favorite version. The soundtrack to the Rankin-Bass tv show "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" featuring Burl Ives is played a lot in my house. That's THE version of "Rudolph" to us. Jimmy Buffett's "Christmas Island" CD is also frequently played here. I love all of the classics, Away in a Manger, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, etc. All the religious songs plus all of the winter-y Christmas songs. "Baby It's Cold Outside" is a favorite. As for not-so-traditional, I love Emerson Lake and Palmer's "Father Christmas" and The Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping". However, I despise country versions of any songs, Christmas or otherwise. With Willie Nelson's "Pretty Paper" topping my list of worst Christmas songs. While I like Willie okay (he's classic country, so he's semi-tolerable, plus, he's Willie) I hate that song with a passion.

| Ok, every year I fall in love all over again. Fairytale of New York by the Pouges and Kirsty MacColl. I just love it and every December I am reminded of how much I do. Do They Know It's Christmas? is another modern/classic track that I also love (in addition to Happy Xmas (War is Over that I mentioned in my previous post). I did order Phil Spector's A Christmas Gift for You, I can pick it up today. I got one copy for me and one for my parents. Now that big question is if I will actually listen to it. But now I have a copy at least (and hoping that my parents haven't found it on CD, I know the have it on vinyl) | |
