Now, I know I'm not the only one who ever listened to a song and thought the lyrics were saying one thing when it was actually something else. So let's hear people's experiences with this. A few right off the bat. In "Lucille" by Kenny Rogers, I always used to think he was singing "when 400 children are locked in a jail." When the actual words are "with 4 hungry children and a crop in the field." In "You don't Have to Say You Love Me" by Dusty Springfield, I thought she was singing "just because you can" when in actuality she was singing "just be close at hand."
