    Help with some songs

I am in charge of a grandparents day program for my children's school. We are doing a slide show as part of the program and I need to find some good songs that might be about grandparents, legacy that type of stuff. Sappy is ok too.

I have had suggested the country song " he walked on water" by Randy Travis about his grandfather.

Any one have some songs that come to mind?

    Thanks

I don't have audio here at work, so I haven't heard the song, but here is a link from a Google search

    Good luck with the program!

What about that old song by the Judds -- the only line I can remember is "Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days."

First one that came to my mind.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

Um the only song that I can bring to my head with Grandparents is "Grandma got run over by a reindeer"

haha,, thanks I know the Judds one, doesn't really have to even have the word grandma, or grand parents but maybe something on the subject of legacy or family or something. I am at a loss.

Well, then, you could always do "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge...

just the image alone of blasting sister sledge into the Christian school Grandparents day is enough to get me through the rest of the day!

Not a lot of Grandparent ideas. A number of Mama & Daddy songs come to mind: Mama-Boyz to Men; When Daddy Let Me Drive-Alan Jackson; Child of Mine by Mark Schultz might be cute. But, it doesn't talk about actual parents. It talks about God as our father. But the lyrics of the chorus may be catchy for waht you're trying to get across: You are a child of mine...Born of my own desire...You bear the heart of life...You are a child of min.

I need help with a song!
It goes: There's a star that shines for me
Brings me love, and sets me free
If anyone knows this song it would be greatly appreciated!
