All time favorite? Current favorites? Oh God, I hate lists!! I never, ever feel I get them "right", I always feel like I'm forgetting something. And when it comes to music I could go on forever.

Okay, so I tried to make a list of my favorites based on artists who've passed the test of time for me (e.g. Franz Ferdinand I love, but as they have only one album out, they are still untested for me and therefore I left them off the list), who I listen to repeatedly and regularly, and whose oeuvre I've chased down most zealously. I know I'm going to kick myself tomorrow for forgetting someone, even though no one cares about it other than me. Aiiieeee! I am such an obsessive music fan!

I agree with what others have said: list changes from time to time; this is not easy, etc.... but here is a partial list of ten groups/artists wherein if I hear a song by them on the radio, I would never feel the need to change the station:

    - Smiths/Morrissey
    - Beatles/Paul McCartney
    - Depeche Mode
    - The Cure
    - NewOrder/Electronic
    - Cocteau Twins
    - The Cars
    - Pet Shop Boys
    - Everything But the Girl
    - The Pretenders

and of course, there are others, but those are the first ten I thought of...

This is an extremely difficult task and I've recently discovered groups that made me change the way I look at music.

    Silverchair
    Weezer
    Beastie Boys
    New Found Glory
    Descendents
    Depeche Mode
    Usher (I know, I know )
    Red Hot Chilli Peppers
    Oasis
    Craig David

(In a few years, I may able to put Franz Ferdinand up there. )
Honorable mention to the Smashing Pumpkins.
