Not a well known song (or artist for that matter), but Language of the Heart used to always get me.
We made our warm bed out of blankets
in the meadow way up high
You took off your dress in the moonlight
to sleep beneath the sky,
Your touch was a warm summer ocean,
your kiss made the whole mountain fly
And you looked deep within me
and smiled at the tears in my eyes
Now you can say that you always were honest
And your words were clear from the start,
But it's more than just words that got spoken
I won't keep on calling your number
if you never have the time.
I don't want to claim you or blame you
but you're always on my mind.
You had no idea I would love you,
it comes as a total surprise;
And you shake your head slowly
and smile at the tears in my eyes.
Now you can say that you always were honest
And your words were clear from the start,
But it's more than just words that got spoken
There was the language of the heart.
Your eyes like an ocean, clear sunlit green,
My eyes with the salt water washing me clean again.
Just imagine that you whispered a secret
that could take away my blues,
And you let me believe it, to please me,
though it just wasn't true.
You just meant to share with me pleasure
and you're gifted at what you do
But you're speaking an unspoken language
I thought that you knew
It's the one we all learn by heart
And our hearts think it's true
Now you can say that you always were honest
And your words were clear from the start,
But it's more than just words that got spoken
There was the language of the heart.
Proud to be an American always makes me cry.
I have more that I will post as soon as I can think of them
Wow - what a great list! You touched on many of mine, including this one. Especially the verse about his parents dying. :cryingQuote:

The Path-H.I.M
There is no turning back from this unending path of mine
Serpentine and black it stands before my eyes
To hell and back it will lead me once more
It's all i have as i stumble in and out of grace
I walk through the gardens of dying light
And cross all the rivers deep and dark as the night
Searching for a reason why time would've passed us by
With every step i take the less i know myself
Every vow i break on my way towards your heart
Countless times i've prayed for forgiveness
But gods just laugh at my face
And this path remains
Leading me into solitude's arms
I see through the darkness my way back home
The journey seems endless but i'll carry on
The shadows will rise and they will fall
And our night drowns in dawn
Amidst all tears there's a smile
That all angels greet with an envious song
One look into stranger's eyes
And i know where i belong
I walk through the gardens of dying light
And cross all the rivers deep and dark as the night
Searching for a reason why time would've passed us by
I see through the darkness my way back home
The journey seems endless but i will carry on
The shadows will rise and they will fall
And our night drowns in dawn
The shadows will rise and they fall
And our night drowns in dawn

Right on with Wild Horses by the Sundays. :up
I like most of the "Unchained Melody" remakes with the U2 and Willie Nelson versions among the top.
There were some dandy ones back in high school. It was the power ballad era. Those hair bands sure could soften up.
The two that always get me choked up though are "Look Away" by Chicago and "Now We Are Free" from the Gladiator sountrack.
Ok, I admit I have many more. I'm only admitting those two. :lol
I don't listen to a lot of country music, but there's a new duet by Allison Krauss and somebody called "Whiskey Lullaby", about a broken love affair and suicide, that just puts me in tears. I think a lot of it is Krauss' voice, it's so melancholy.
