"What Hurts The Most" Rascal Flatts.... the music video's even worse
"How To Save a Life" The Fray - So, so sad.

There's also a really sad song/music video I know, but I forgot it right now.

I love that song too but I like Elvis' version better!!! Major chill bumps when he sings it!

The music video for "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day is really sad.

Re: Songs that make you cry

The song that comes to mind first is "Breathe Me" by Sia. Probably because it was the song they used to end Six Feet Under and you watch Claire drive away crying for her newly dead brother (which still kills me- Nate dying) and watching the 'future' and how everyone meets their end.

I still have this episode on my Tivo.

I find most of my sad, sad songs from TV shows used during sad scenes. Grey's is amazing at it. The episode that comes to mind is the one that's number 2 in the 3 part episode where Meredith dies and comes back. Bitter Song by Butterfly Boucher (itunes or myspace) and The Great Escape by Patrick Watson (itunes, myspace)

My last find was the one from Tuesday's "House" where the patient dies. It's Follow The Leader by Matthew Ryan. He has a myspace you can hear it on.

I seriously live for sad songs. can't get enough of them. I must go compile a list!

Re: Songs that make you cry

    I can't believe I forgot this song:

I saw Imogen Heap in November. Levi Weaver opened for her. He's a singer/songwriter. He told a story of how he got into a car accident at age 17 and was badly hurt, but (obviously) okay now. However his brother who was 13 was in the car with him and he died. He wrote the song "Del Cielo" as a way to cope. It's absolutely beautiful.

(it hit me particularly hard as I saw the concert and heard that song one year -nearly to the day - after my brother unexpectedly died)

you can hear it here: www.myspace.com/leviweaver

lyrics: (he's singing as if his brother was talking to him from heaven)

I'll be waiting to meet you
i'll be the first one to greet you
and i'll sing a jubilant song 'cause you're home
    i've been waiting so long

right now it seems like forever
but try now, try to remember
the times, now, that we had together
    ...for me
'cause i can't bear to see you cry

and i'm sorry that i can't be there to see you through
but i hope you hear me say 'i love you'
and i'll see you again ...someday

love is so much more than emotion
my love lives with undying devotion
so don't give into the notion i'm gone
    i've only gone home

i miss you when we're apart but
    i'm with you - you're not forgotten
i've been here watching you all along
cheering you on til that final day

and i'm sorry that you can't see me like i see you
but i hope you hear me say 'i love you'
    and i'll see you again...

i'm home - home where i've always wanted to be
i hope you're happy for me
i'm free - free from the burdens that troubled me there
    it's so wonderful here
and i've seen so many things i could never describe in a day
    and oh by the way...

    ...i eagerly wait
    til i see you again...

    ...someday

Hit me really hard the first few times I really listened to it - especially when coupled with the video.

    that song gets me everytime

Carrie Underwood's Jesus Take the wheel KILLS ME.

I could write a big list of songs that make me cry.

    I'll spare everyone though.....

James Blunt has some killer sad songs............No Bravery.
The Pats will be back next year. Watch out.....
