I believe Prince might have produced the Martika's Kitchen album....he has a song called Martika's Kitchen even. I know there's some relation between the two of them, but I'm not sure what and I'm leaning toward the production and possibly writing for an album of hers.

So Eminem sampled "Toy Soldiers" on his new album. You can check it out at The Leak on MTV.com Click on "Like Toy Soldiers."

As far as Oppera, they are supposed to hit the road in December. I hope this helps them out. I would say it gave Dido a big push.

As far as the album "Martika's Kitchen and Prince...

Prince composed, "Martika's Kitchen and together they did "love...thy will be done" and "don't say u love me." Oh and "Spirit" the two of them and some others.

Did you watch Kids Inc? Fergie is Stacy Ferguson, the little blonde who was one of the original cast members of the show. Actually, the longest running cast member. They shot the pilot in 1983, and she was a series regular from 1984-1989. After skipping the 1990 season, Kids Inc came back (without Stacy and replacing 8 of the 10 kids with no explanation at all) in 1991. The show was cancelled after the 1993 season.

Hope it's okay to post pics. They are all scans of photos from my personal collection (except the last one) and hosted on my own server:

Whoa, I loved Martika hardcore when I was like 9. I was all about Debbie Gibson, Martika, Paula Abdul and Belinda Carlisle. I didn't know anyone knew who Martika was anymore, VanJagSol, you're awesome! I still know the words to every song on her "Martika" album. I haven't listened to the music you linked yet. Is it good? I'm a little scared.
    Cycle 1: Elyse, Adrianne
    Cycle 2: Mercedes, Shandi
    Cycle 3: Nicole, Norelle
    Cycle 4: Kahlen, Naima

The music is different, which is good. A little rock, hip hop, with some classical in some songs too. It is just awesome to hear her again. Her voice is definitely stronger.

Wow, I used to love Debbie Gibson, and Belinda too.

They are starting to do some shows. Their first one was yesterday in Kentucky. The next at the Holy Grail in Cincinnati Ohio on Jan 7th! They have also been invited to play at the Sundance Film Festival and are going to be in the January issue of Q magazine.

You should be able to find their album in most stores now. If not you can get it online.

I remembered Martika just by her hit single "Toy Soldiers" alone. Seems like she's riding on Eminem's fame (he sampled her song for his hit "Like Toy Soldiers") to make a comeback. Still, it's done in a good way.
