All Time Worst Career Moves

What are some of the worst career moves made by budding musicians during an ill advised moment of "clarity"? Here are a few examples:

Pete Best (original Beatles drummer) "This Mersey Beat thing is a fad in the pan. I think I want to quit and go back to playing Skiffle in tea rooms. That is where the future is"

John Rutsey (origninal drummer for Rush) "This band is going nowhere fast, I think I will quit and become a competitive body builder."

Andrew Ridgely (co-founder of Wham!) "Who needs that bloody George Michael. I am the one who draws the crowds. I am so outta here"

I have one that is not necessarily a bad career move, but more of a question of luck. The band silverchair had originally a fourth member, but the guy moved away from Australia for one year. In the meantime, they other band members won a contest which made them famous with the song "Tomorrow." The guy, is name is Tobin, returned after a year only to find out that his band mates already found fame and they actually didn't need him so much anymore.

I forgot about Siobhan, she went solo and released some decent music but it never charted high enough and I think she got dropped by her label.
