Janis Joplin taking up heroin hands down
I can only imagine the career she would have had, had she survived her drug binges.
How about Puff Daddy (excuse me, P Diddy) taking on David Hasselhoff to transform him from whatever he is now into hip hop . WTF?
Tracii Guns quitting Guns N' Roses before they hit it big.
Wait, maybe not so bad for GNR, but bad for him. :lol
"Where did he go - where did he go now - where did he go - ay ay ay ay ay ay ay ay ay ay where did go now - sweet brainless child o' miiinnneeeeeeee" :laughQuote:

How about Axel Rose firing everyone in GNR who could play worth Crap . Then thinking no-one would notice he gained 100 pounds and that he had way too much plastic surgery.
What about Garth Brooks' foray as his alter ego "Chris Gaines"?
I thought that it was so weird that he felt the need to create this fictional person, complete with toupee and soul patch, in order to simply put out a record with Rock n' Roll music on it.
I remember when Garth Brooks hosted "Saturday Night Live" and the musical guest was Chris Gaines and he never broke from charecter during the musical numbers.
To an extent, David Bowie did the same thing when he created the charecter of Ziggy Stardust - but that was all campy tounge in cheek and part of an elaborate and bombastic stage show and conceptual album.
With Garth it seemed like he felt that if he put out a rock album as Garth Brooks that he would alienate his country music fans - so he created this other fictional person in order to show his harder edged side.
I'm not down on Garth about it. I think he is an extremely talented musician, song writer and seems like a really down to earth kinda guy. I just thought it was a strange career move and sort of weird.
Liz Phair and her poppy new look and sound? She was such a great angry grrlpower writer ...now i dunno?
