Arlo Guthrie is a legend and I would give my eye teeth to see him. Have a great time William and tell us all about the concert! Arlo ranks up there with Bob Dylan.

Don't you live in MA, Steph? If so, the only time Arlo has played in MA recently was in July, at the Nashua River Valley Folk Festival, which got good reviews and had many more people than you're mentioning. Otherwise in that state he's played at his own Guthrie Center, "The Church", which is a huge draw anytime he's there in person. He regularly sells out his shows.

If you're in another state, well, sorry, I still doubt he only drew 15 people. As Canuckinchile says, he is a legend, and he puts on a heck of a performance. Folk music really was the root of protest music, and Arlo's dad Woody, along with Pete Seeger were at the heart of it. Some might wonder why protest music of that era is relevant, and it's because without it, we wouldn't have bands/performers like Pearl Jam or Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine, etc, countless punk bands, singing songs about injustice. It's one thing for a band or performer to say they're "anti-establishment" to give themselves "credibility" but it's another thing entirely for them to actually know what it is they're against. When you go back to someone like Arlo, a person can get a grasp of history, of why this world is like it is...and be well entertained during the education.

William13, I hope you have a great time, I'm looking forward to hearing about it! Arlo's playing Carnegie Hall in November, I'd so love to see him there.

I'm going to see Van Halen Sept. 29th! I'm broke because of it, but I'll worry about that later.

    Yes he is.
    The Motorcycle Song
words and music by Arlo Guthrie

    CHORUS:
    I don't want a pickle
Just want to ride on my motorsickle
    And I don't want a tickle
'Cause I'd rather ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want to die
I just want to ride on my motorcy...cle

It was late last night the other day
I thought I'd go up and see Ray
So l went up and I saw Ray
There was only one thing Ray could say, was:

    CHORUS

Just last week I was on my bike
I run into a friend named Mike
Run into my friend named Mike
Mike no longer has a bike. He cries:

    CHORUS

Got tickets to Sugarland, Little Big Town and Jake Owen at the Nokia Theatre in NYC in November.

Sugarland is the headliner and I adore them, but I cannot wait to hear the harmonies of LBT.

Unk - I'm really looking forward to it. Al loves them too, but I do think he's also interested in watching Jennifer Nettles Should be a fun show - I'll let you know how it is. It's weird - it's a "standing" theatre - no seats - weird, no? Nokia Theatre Should be fun though.

One of the girls from LBT has been missing some shows recently due to giving birth. Is she back? It's only been a couple of weeks.

I would imagine so. I have seen both LBT & Sugarland a couple of times each & you will enjoy the show. Jennifer Nettles may just be the best Female entertainer in Country Music today. She dares you not to have a good time. By the way Jake Owen is pretty good as well.
