Great thread SnowflakeGirl! Excellent picks as well! I took the liberty of adding a few categories, just so that I could squeeze in a few more songs

Opening Credits-Childhood Flashback Fade Into Waking Up Sequence: “Here Comes the Sun" - Beatles (my father is a massive Beatles fan", any ABBA song, "Step By Step" - New Kids on the Block (I, embarrassingly enough, was a massive NKOTB fan)
High School Flashback Sequence: “Losing My Religion” - R.E.M., "Creep" - Radiohead, "Unloveable" - The Smiths
College Flashback Sequence: "Hymn to the Cigarettes" - Hefner, "There's Too Much Love" - Belle & Sebastian
Party Scene: “Cigarettes and Alcohol" - Oasis, "40 Boys in 40 Nights" - The Donnas, "Last Nite" - The Strokes
The day after the party (hangover scene): "Sunday Morning Come Down" - Kris Kristofferson, "(Afternoon) Soaps" - Arab Strap.
Driving Aimlessly Sequence: “There Is a Light that Never Goes out" - The Smiths
The First Love: "Hallelujah" - Jeff Buckley, "All I Want" - Joni Mitchell
The Big Love: "After I Made Love to You" - Bonnie "Prince" Billy, "Harvest Moon" - Neil Young, "Things Mean a Lot" - Red House Painters
Sex Scene: "Rented Rooms" - Tindersticks, "I Want You" - Spiritualized.
Break Up Scene: “I Wish I Never Saw the Sunshine" - Beth Orton, "He's Gone" - Suede
Regret Scene: “Minneapolis" - Lucinda Williams
Emotional Breakdown Scene: “She's Lost Control Again" - Joy Division, "Blue" - Lucinda Williams, "Philadelphia" - Neil Young
    Epiphany: “These Days" - Nico
Nightclub/ Bar Scene: “I Just Can't Get You of out My Head" - Kylie Minogue
Life Before My Eyes Sequence: "In My Life" - Johnny Cash's version
Funeral Scene: “Into My Arms" - Nick Cave
Closing Credits: “River Man" - Nick Drake
"There's more to life than books, you know, but not much more" (Morrissey)

this was difficult for me in that ian moore could have made up every song of my personal soundtrack... instead of giving him all the songs, i only gave him about half though.

Opening Credits/Childhood Flashback Fade Into Waking Up Sequence : Dan Fogelberg – Innocent Age – “Run for the Roses”

High School/College Flashback Sequence: Guns N Roses – Appetite for Destruction - “Paradise City”

Party Scene – DJ Cool – Let Me Clear My Throat - “Let Me Clear My Throat”

Driving Aimlessly Sequence – John Mayer – Room for Squares – “Why Georgia”

The First Love – Incubus – S.C.I.E.N.C.E. – “Summer Romance (Anti Gravity Love Song)”

Sex Scene – Ian Moore – Ian Moore – “Satisfied”

    Break Up Scene – Sinead O’Connor – I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got - “Nothing Compares 2 U”

Regret Scene – Dan Fogelberg – Exiles – “Seeing You Again”

Emotional Breakdown Scene – Alice In Chains – Dirt - “Down In a Hole”

Epiphany – Incubus – Morning View – “Warning”

Nightclub/Bar Scene: Ian Moore – Modernday Folklore - “Bar Line 99”

Life Before My Eyes Sequence – Ian Moore – And All The Colors – “Closer”

Funeral Scene – Ian Moore – Modernday Folklore – “Today”

Closing Credits – Ian Moore – And All the Colors – “Leary’s Gate”

i realize you chose this LAST YEAR, speedy, but i absolutely love this pick.
i can't believe i'm finding this thread for the first time a year later.

also for me, another break up scene song could have been "like a drug" by they eat their own... obscure band from 1991ish.

...and once again, thank you, FoRT!

I was actually asked this question by a real-life acquaintance, and instead of doing all the work, I have my post to go by.

Now, carry on with the soundtracks to your lives.

Do you need to write what part of your life it will be played? If so, I am really sorry.

I recently had this question put to me again by a real life acquaintance, and instead of exchanging lists, we decided to do one better by burning a copy of our "soundtracks," exchanging them, and listening to each other's soundtracks. Great fun! Give it a try.
