    Billboard Music Awards - 12/09

    Billboard Music Awards

    120 min.
Cedric the Entertainer hosts the 13th annual gala honoring artists and songs with the most sales and airplay from December 2001 through November 2002.

Slated performers include Faith Hill (singing “When the Lights Go Down”), Creed (“Weathered”), Avril Lavigne (“Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated”), Nelly and the St. Lunatics (“Hot in Herre”), Justin Timberlake (“Cry Me a River”) and Puddle of Mudd (“She Hates Me”). Also planned is a tribute to music group Run-DMC, which has disbanded in the aftermath of the slaying of Jam Master Jay in November 2002. It is slated to include Nelly, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Nas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Also, Cher receives the Artist Achievement Award; Michael Jackson marks the 20th anniversary of his “Thriller” album; and Annie Lennox is presented with the Billboard Century Award. Also slated to appear are Steven Tyler, Lil' Romeo, JC Chasez, LL Cool J, B2K and Master P.

I like awards shows, even when I do sit booing because my favourites didn't win

I'll have to turn it over during two numbers from Avril though.

I don't normally do Music Award shows, but I might end up tuning in just to see Creed sing "Weathered", one of my favorite songs right now. Puddle of Mudd will also be good, and of course, Steven Tyler is always fun to watch. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's bad, but it's always a spectacle.

    Your Host: Cedric the Entertainer

Cedric The Entertainer recently starred in box office smash “Barbershop” and also starred in the hit film “The Original Kings of Comedy,” the documentary feature about the successful comedy tour of the same name directed by Spike Lee. He is currently the star of the new FOX comedy CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER PRESENTS.

A viewing audience of more than 144 million witnessed Cedric nab the No. 1 commercial spot for Anheuser-Busch’s Bud Light brand during the broadcast of the 2001 Super Bowl (USA Today dubbed him “Madison Avenue’s Most Valuable Player”). Cedric will soon co-star opposite George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the Coen brothers’ comedy feature “Intolerable Cruelty.”

I couldn't believe that Ashanti won so many awards.
I can't stand her voice or that god awful song they play 215 times a day here.

Glad to see that Nickelback got so many awards.

I'm not a big fan of Ashanti, but I am glad that Eminem won. Would have been strange if he didn't win Album of the Year.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

Puddle of Mudd doing so well irks me.
It's impossible to quantify how much a$$ they suck.
