They popped this cd in at the City Museum in St. Louis last week and I love the band's sound, but I'm at a loss. Does anyone recognize the lyrics??

Welcome to my head, and won't you please excuse the mess
'Cause I've been up all night; the memories aren't for sale
But you can borrow them for free if you express your empathy You'll have to wade around the garbage, but you can block it out like me
I've got this place I get away got this place I get away
Got this place I get away sometimes
I talked to God last night, but then it ended up the same tomorrow
Nothing's gonna change; no it won't ever change
I talked to mom and dad, but I can't tell them what I want to say
I guess that kids just live their lives that way
I've got this place I get away got this place I get away
Got this place I get away sometimes I find that
You derail my heart; you derail my soul
You derail me home, and you save myself from me
You derail my heart; you derail my soul
This song is "Derail" from a newer artist (I think) named Jonah Werner
"He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how."

I love this song but have no idea on the name of the song or who the artist is. Does anyone know it, I'm sure its a song from the US.

    Heres the chorus:

I don't want to be anything,
    other then what I've been
    trying to be lately.
All I have to do is think of me
and I'll have peace of mind.

I tired of looking around through
and told what I'm gonna to do
or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything,
    other then, what I've been.
    I rather lurk than post.

alright, this might be a very "obvious" song to many, but I have no idea who sings sings this, or what it's called. The song for the opening credits of the show "the O.C" and it goes like " California here we come, californiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

    help! thanks

    California - Phantom Planet --

but an old song - California, Here we Come - was an Al Jolson song - loosely based on this. From an old musical.

Help! There's a song that has just been *haunting* me. I want to find out who sings it or what the name of the song is. There are commercials for the New Zealand tourism industry that features a folksy kind of song. I SWEAR I'm either familiar with the group or the song, but I can't place it. Part of the lyrics are:

"so if you've been waiting, you've been waiting too long.
Just when you thought you could go on forever, your mind unwinds
and your world keeps spinning round.."

Help! Someone tell me what this song is or who sings it before I lose my mind trying to place the tiny snippet they play on the commercial.

    It's Dave Dobbyn, "Waiting"

(I just googled the lyric snippet and got a hit, I think it's the one though)

    Lyrics: Waiting

If you've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could go on forever- Yeah
You've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could hold it all together
    Your mind real wild

Way south of any bordered country
In a land where the darkness is slow turning
In the twilight of a postcard island lie
    Little ashtrays of industrial dreams
And you- Yeah you- Stranded on the moon
Just to keep it all in the back of your head
While you zoom- Consume- Little laughter from the gloom
Just to keep it all in the back of your head now

If you've been waiting- you've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could go on forever- Yeah
And you've been waiting- you've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could hold it all together
The world unwinds and your mind keeps a spinning out

In the chaos of a river thrashing
All that water and still got to stand in line
    Everything you ever wanted truly
In a word carved in stone just beyond your touch
    Touch- Thank you very much
Just to keep it all in the back of my head
While you zoom consume- Little bandits on the moon
Just to keep it all in the back of your head
Well the world's unkind I am here to remind you

If you've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could go on forever- Yeah
If you've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could hold it all together
The world unwinds and your mind keeps a-spinning out

A fine line's been drawn here
Your tidy world has exploded into pieces
A songline's been sung here- It's part of you
It's in blood and tattooed to your heart

If you've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could go on forever- Yeah
You've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could hold it all together- Yeah
You've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could go on forever- now
If you've been waiting- You've been waiting too long
Just when you thought you could
Just when you thought you could go on
    Hah- Oh
    You've been waiting too long
    Spinning out a line
Your mind keeps spinning out a line
    You've been waiting too long
    Too
