Gustav Holst was right!
bought the new coldplay the day it came out. still thinking about whether to buy the latest black eyed peas. i like what i hear on the radio, but am not sure i could "do" an entire cd. despite the fact that i think fergie kicks ass.
I haven't been buying CDs lately, I just limewire them now. hehe However my last one was:
Thankful - Kelly Clarkson
Milton Brunson & The Thompson Community Choir's Greatest Hits Vol 1.
Just got Bo's single today that has the guy from Bon Jovi on it. Its good.
"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
Benjamin Franklin.
Avril Lavigne- Under my skin
Every song on that cd is amazing.Words can't describe it!!It's amazing.Period.
The last CD I bought was Better Than Ezra's Before the Robots. Been in the car for 2 weeks now and I'm not bored with it yet.
Obrigado Brasil - Yo Yo Ma and a Miles Davis cd....a few weeks back...still not sick of 'em!
It's a fair cop guv - you got me bang to rights and no mistake!
Ooh, nice selections, Britannia.
Let's see, the latest I've gotten:
Demon Days by Gorillaz - Perhaps not the usual fare I listen to, but I'm in the crowd that thinks Damon Albarn is a genius. I'm really enjoying it.I'd give it 4 stars out of 5.
Picaresque by The Decemberists - This is the best album I've heard in several years. I can't say enough nice things about it. 5 stars out of 5.
X&Y by Coldplay - I'm really kind of new to Coldplay, but I'm liking it so far. I just picked it up today. They have quite the anthemic sound.
The Future Embrace by Billy Corgan - You all know he's my favorite. This is a great CD; very sentimental and vulnerable. Robert Smith's cameo appearance on "To Love Somebody" (yes, the Bee Gees song!) is delightful. 5 stars out of 5.
My most recent purchase is a real gem for any fan of classic, soulful country with a twist: Begonias by Caitlin Cary (former Whiskeytown member) and Thad Cockrell. It's a collection of wistful, bittersweet duets - very reminiscent of Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons' classic duets. If you're into Emmylou, Gram, or more recent alt. country like Ryan Adams (especially his Whiskeytown years), Laura Cantrell, or The Be-Good Tanyas, this is definitely right up your alley.
