Re: What's the last CD you bought?

I just discovered an Alabama group on NPR called the Drive By Truckers. Never heard of them before, but really liked them. I ordered the CD, Southern Rock Opera because the cuts I heard on NPR were from that CD. It's fabulous. Different, but sort of Southern Rock/Country/blues, etc.

If you like them, give a listen to Goose Creek Symphony. I think you'll like them as well.

Re: What's the last CD you bought?

I bought a bunch lately. The last three:

Adam Lambert - "Season 8 Performances" off of iTunes (Man, oh, man! The studio versions of his AI performances are beyond stellar.)
Natalie Merchant - "Tigerlilly" (Where did my old copy go?)
The Killers - "Hot Fuss"

I bought Save Ferris "It Means Everything". I'd give it **** out of five. It is a fun album and it includes a song called "Spam" I find hilarious - it probably would be for anyone who has had experience with it (the "food" product, not the junk e-mail).
I'm not sure when I finally decided to admit that I like ska music, because I hated it when I was in HS...

George Harrison: Let it Roll

Absolutely fabulous. He was the best songwriting Beatle in my opinion and his solo stuff was just incredible.

This is a great CD.

Every Eels album is great, but I've been particularly enjoying the latest--HOMBRE LOBO. A good portion of it is up on the "OfficialEels" YouTube channel too, if you want a preview.

Emmy Rossum- Inside Out.

It is really good, a completely different sound from the opera she did in Phantom of the Opera. This is more like a marriage of Enya and Imogen Heap. I love it!!!

I love OAR! Have you heard "Nasim Joon"? What a beautiful song. And "James" almost brings tears to my eyes.

I am also enjoying (bought from ITunes) Ingrid Michaelson, Joshua Radin, Regina Spektor and Adele. Being well into middle-age, it has been a long time since I've been so interested in current music, but I am loving the new tunes and my Ipod!
