Re: What's the last CD you bought?

I got "The Reminder" by Feist and "O" by Damien Rice.

Feist is just....amazing. Haunting, soulful, romantic, edgy...So many adjectives. Damien is so...intense.

Have you heard of 'em?

Dirty Three - Sad & Dangerous (****)
Dirty Three - (Self-Titled) (****)

The Dirty Three are an Australian instrumental group, consisting of a drummer, a guitarist, and a violinist who sometimes swaps out for other interesting instruments. I love their material because it has such a great range--peaceful strumming and melancholy violin lines at one moment and feedback-drenched cacophony at the next. These two albums are their demo recordings and their debut, respectively, and are far more rough and wild than some of their later work. Some of it drags a bit, but it's a great listen.

Boris - Pink (*****)

Hailing from Japan, Boris has been putting out excellent, genre-defying music for a while now. It's all rather metal-ish and can get crushingly heavy, but there's a wide spectrum of the ambiance of their noise, from lush and shoegazer-like to pounding and belligerent, a la the Melvins. They're the cream of the crop, in my opinion.

Sara Bareilles - Little Voice
I saw her on Ellen yesterday and was so impressed I went out and bought it today. If you haven't heard her, check her out. She also has some footage on You Tube.

Re: What's the last CD you bought?

Unk I think that is a cd my daughter played on a 2 hour drive over and over.
Kind of killed it for me. Great voice.

Last cd I bought was Keith Urban and I never listen to it.

I bought J. Geil's Band's greatest hits on itunes. Gone now because my puter is gone : (

I suppose I can get it back.

I have about 500 cds so, no need to get more at this time.

Never enough Matchbox Twenty for me though

Re: What's the last CD you bought?

Of Montreal is having a discography sale at polyvinyl.com; 8 CDs and 2 EPs for $70. I ordered it a couple days ago. I've had all the albums I'm .mp3 format for quite a while (), but I thought since it's my favorite band I should show some more (financial) support.
