| Mr Geek and I tend to buy CDs together since we have almost identical taste in music. Our latest buy is a real gem - Personality (One Was a Spider, One Was a Bird) by Sleepy Jackson. It's one of the most eclectic and innovative records I've heard in a long time. Think what the schizophrenic love child of the Beach Boys and The Flaming Lips might sound like, throw in a hint of Gorky's Zygotic Munci and The Thrills, and le voilą, you've got Sleepy Jackson! Standout tracks include God Lead Your Soul and God Knows - oddly enough, Beach Boys' gorgeous, gorgeous "God Only Knows" comes to mind when I'm listening to both of those tracks - and "I Understand What You Want But I Just Don't Agree", whose title is almost on par with Morrissey in terms of wittiness. There isn't a bad track on it, though. Manny, if you haven't discovered Sleepy Jackson yet, you're in for a treat! I'm almost 100% positive that you'll love this.

| Agatsuma. Japanese techno-poppy instrumentals. Heard this guy on Breakfast With The Arts (not my usual fare) and got hooked by the one tune he played. Immediately searched the internet and bought 3 used cd's. They're all great - I'm playing them in the office where they're a fabulous change from the sappy muzak. |
