    Guitar riffs I love

This thread is to point out really cool guitar riffs. Even if you hate the rest of the song, but you love the riff, put it here.

I'm using "riff" in the most generic way possible. If you like the way a certain piece of guitar music sounds, whether it's technically a "riff" or not, spill it.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

    1) The one that made me think of this is the guitar solo at the end of "I Am Mine" by Pearl Jam. Very cool.

    2) I also love the guitar part that opens CCR's "Green River".

    3) Mark Knopfler's guitar work is always great. Maybe I'll jump over to the "Backup band" thread and throw him in there.

The opening of "Sweet Child Of Mine" by GNR is outstanding, too. Who does that? Slash?

And who hasn't played (well, in my case "tried to play" ) the intro riff to "Smoke on the Water"!?

I love the "riff" in Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle".

My favourite guitar sequence (whatever you want to call it) is from Hotel California.

I love the guitar part in "Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz.

And the opening guitar riff in "Come As You Are" by Nirvana.

I just flat-out love the guitar!

The Boys are Back in Town - Thin Lizzy. Love that guitar riff in there!

And there are too many Allman Bros. ones to list properly
