Wow - I remember this one from when I was younger and my OLDER brother thought they were singing, Honest, I See You for Our Lips Are Sealed.

There's an old R.E.M. song called "Sitting Still", recorded back in the day when it was virtually impossible to hear what Michael Stipe was singing. Let me put it this way: Their debut album was called Murmur for a reason. Anyway, there's a line in that song that I just can't make out, no matter how many times I've listened to it. Sometimes I'm positive he sings "We could gather through our fear"; other times it sounds like "We could gather, throw up beer". Michael was asked about it in an interview once and even he isn't sure what he was singing. I think what he's actually singing is "We could gather, throw a fit" but I'm not sure. It's one of life's big mysteries.

My 14 year old daughter thought it was "I'll never smell your pizza burnin'

And a few years ago she thought that Aerosmith's: Dude looks like a lady was: Doodles like a lady. She would sing that so loud and we would just laugh.

A close friend loves the BTO song: Baking Carrot Biscuits or Taking Care of Business as the rest of us know it.

I used to think that the part in the Grease song "Summer Nights" that says Tell me more, tell me more was actually saying Tommy boy, Tommy boy.

If this has been mentioned before, then I apologize. But the one singer that comes to my mind, as far some I cannot understand any lyrics to is Michael McDonald. "What A Fool Believes" is the first song that I tried to understand, and I couldn't figure out what he was talking about or anything. Here's the lyrics and link to the song from Napsterlinks.

He came from somewhere back in her long ago
    The sentimental fool don't see
    Tryin' hard to recreate
What had yet to be created once in her life
    She musters a smile
    For his nostalgic tale
Never coming near what he wanted to say
    Only to realized
    It never really was
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As she rises to her apology
    Anybody else would surely know
    He's watching her go
But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
    What seems to be
    Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all keeps sending him ...
Somewhere back in her long ago
    Where he can still believe
There's a place in her life
    Someday, somewhere, she will return
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As she rises to her apology
    Anybody else would surely know
    He's watching her go
But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
    What seems to be
    Is always better than nothing
    There's nothing at all
But what a fool believes he sees ...

My little sister thought that 1950's song, "Who Wrote the Book of Love?" was actually "Rudolph the Book is Done".......

She also thought AC/DC was singing "Dirty Deeds and the Thunder Chief"!!
