    Worst/Best Cover Song?

I'm not a huge fan of cover songs. However, the WORST cover song in history has to be the latest remake of Def Leppard's "Bringing on the Heartache" by Mariah Carey Is anything sacred??

Not sure it's the best cover song, but I LOVE Jeffrey Gaines' version of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes"

Anyone else with a worst/best cover?

the cover of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Nikki French was pretty horrible! The remake of Ready for the World's "Love You Down" by DJ Fierce was pretty bad too...

A couple of great remakes were Luther Vandross's remake of Karen Carpenter's "Radio"/"Superstar" and Gladys Knight's remake of Dusty Springfield's "Midnight Train to Georgia."

Dangerous Toys did a cover of Feel Like Makin Love that was pretty awful.

Oh yeah. Weezer did a cover of Britney Spears' "Baby one more time" that's hilarious. They didn't change the words or anything, but the idea in and of itself is pretty funny. A band named the Gourds did a cover of Snoop's "Gin and Juice". They sound exactly like Blues Traveler, so it's hysterical.

Also, more seriously, Faith No More covered "Easy (like Sunday morning)" and did an AMAZING job of it.

I hated Sheryl Crow's version of GnR's 'Sweet Child of Mine' *shudders*

My favourite covers include Van Halen's 'Pretty Woman', and U2's 'Can't Help Falling in Love'.

I really love Dwight Yoakam's cover of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" ... His style is just so catchy when he does it & he really does it good (or maybe I'm just hypnotized by his tight jeans..hah...).

Anyways, that's one of my most favorite cover songs.

Ironically enough, a cover song that does not sit so well with me is also by Dwight Yoakam, merely his cover song of Cheap Trick's "I want you to want me".

(But I'll still enjoy his tight jeans if he chooses to perform this cover... *g*)

Good Charlotte did some pretty good covers of 80's songs for Not Another Teen Movie like "If You Leave," "Footloose," and "I Want Candy." I don't really like Good Charlotte, but those songs are good!

    Some great covers:
Guns N' Roses - Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney & Wings)
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss (J. Frank Wilson)
RHCP - Higher Ground (Stevie Wonder)
Depeche Mode - Dirt (Iggy Pop)

I'm sure I'll think of some not-so-great ones later, if I turn on the radio....
