I haven't read the entire thread, so I'm probably repeating, but the best two cover songs in my eyes are The Sundays version of Wild Horses, and Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. Not only beautiful covers, but to my mind, better than the originals.

Worst covers? Lawd, there are ssssoooooo many.
All I wanted was a 45, a stinking 45 - the record or the gun. I'd even settle for the damn malt liquor. - Al Bundy.

I think the best cover song is Marilyn Manson doing a remake of "Tainted Love." I used to love the original version of this song, but I heard it too much and got sick of it quickly. So when I heard Marilyn's version of the song, I loved it. He put a different groove and vibe to it, which I love. It's more danceable, in my opinion. What do you guys think of this veriosn of the song?

I like that version a lot, too, Katskratch. I also like Marilyn's covers of "I Put a Spell on You" and "Five to One."

But, "Personal Jesus"? Not so much. That song was a bit out of his league.

There is one cover artist (I think it's the same) I don't like. I don't know who it is but she has done covers of Imagine, What a Wonderful World and Knockin' on Heaven's door (I think) I don't like her because she has taken away from the meaning of the song into something to show off her voice, which is beautiful.

Can anyone help me with who it is?

I am hoping that it is someone I don't like...

I am now listening to Haylie and Hillary Duff's cover of Madonna's Material Girl.

    I am furious!

Sinead O'connors cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares To You"
Luther Vandross's cover of Dionne Warwick's "A House Is Not A Home"
Jimi Hendrix's cover of Dylan's "All along the Watch Tower"
rank as my all time favorite covers.

I really don't like Toploader's version of "Dancing in the Moonlight". It was originally done by King Harvest, and it was AWESOME, but Toploader made it slow and boring. I have no idea why everyone like's Toploader's version better.
