Downloaded and listening to Cake's - I Will Survive, Pretty good
No Doubt - Its My Life
    Christina Aguilera - At Last

Worst: Avril Lavigne - Fuel...I heard that on MTV Icon and she completly ruined my favourite Metallica song
    Paradise Hotel theme was brutal
Is it Marilyn Manson who covered "Your Own Personal Jesus?" Sounds like him, but I'm not sure. Either way, as a Depeche Mode fan from the 80's, I thought it was really well done, and more so if he covered it, and I really reaaaaaaallllllyyyyyyyyy dont like him.

I dunno, but I reallyreally like Rammstein's cover of Depeche Mode's "Stripped."

And yeah, Marilyn Manson did do a cover of "Personal Jesus."
    Gustav Holst was right!

I also LOVE his cover of Sweet Dreams.

I also hated Avril's Fuel. I was SO disturbed!

I loved Korn's "One" and Staind's "Nothing Else Matters" great job, both! Fred Durst almost converted me to his side with his "Sanitarium" but ultimately, the only thing I like of Limp Bizkit is "My Way (or the Highway)"

    Best Covers:
    Metallica "Turn the Page"
Sheryl Crow:"The First Cut Is The Deepest"
Jimi Hendrix: "All Along the Watchtower"
Axl Rose/GNR: "Knockin on Heaven's Door"
    Live "Love my Way"
Van Halen "You Really Got Me"
    Pearl Jam "Last Kiss"

    Worst Covers:
    Madonna "American Pie"
Sheryl Crow "Sweet Child of Mine"
some dance people did "Heaven" by Bryan Adams
Jessica Simpson "Take My Breath Away" she can't carry a go&^**^ tune!
Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You"

How do people not like Whitney singing I will always love you? its just one of those songs that made her, her.. unless you don't like her in general I guess... I mean, watch a VH-1 Special of her (they have enough) and I gurantee you'll hear that clip of her cresendo up (I think thats the proper term, whatever, she gets louder) singing that line at least 3 times..

I saw an interview in the 80's where Dolly Parton said she liked Houston's version better than her own.

She is a great singer...yes, I just thought that it was so, i don't know, overdone, overstylized, as opposed to the calm, quiet, thoughtful way Willie Nelson did it. JMHO

IMO, Whitney's cover of I Will Always Love You wasn't so much bad as it was horrendously overplayed.

I really like Sarah McLachlan's cover of "Wear Your Love Like Heaven." I can't think of any others I like at the moment. Two I absolutely hate are Counting Crows' "Big Yellow Taxi" and Mariah Carey's version of "I Still Believe" (I love the original).

I never cared for Willie Nelson until I listened to "Stardust." I think that's the album title (album... dating myself) Anyway, THAT is one OUTSTANDING example of what covers should be. I just loved it.

OMG! She did sing that at the Justified/Stripped concert, didn't she? I felt like crying when I heard her sing it. It was just beautiful. *tear*
