Our wedding song was "Who wants to live forever" by Queen ..
(Although Sara Brightman does a version, we did the Queen one)
It was our song from long before I met him face to face, we would play it while we were along thinking of one another and the lyrics etc just kinda fit our situation.

So when it came to picking a wedding song, there was no other option :-)
"He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how."

My husband and I consider 2 songs our wedding songs. The "Third of June" by Corey Hart cuz we got married June 3rd and Corey is my husband's favorite singer and "From This Moment" by Shania Twain cuz when she came to town for a concert a few years ago she picked my husband (then boyfriend) and I on stage for a song and when it was finished we told her we would have "from this moment" as our wedding song.

The opening dance was Third of June, but right after we played From this Moment.

Wedding Song was "Everything I Do, I do it for you" Bryan Adams.

Danced with my Mom (instead of my Dad - he died when I was 2) - "She's Got a Way" - Billy Joel

Hubby danced with his Mom to some song (A Song for my Son I think) that the DJ forced us into picking, but I wanted "My Son" by Tony Kenny

We played "Listen to My Heart" by Nancy LaMott at the ceremony - just that song

Favorite "get-down-and-dance" song at my wedding - "Wiggle It" - 2 in a Room

I got married outside and as I was walking up the path to meet my husband to be we had "It's a wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong and to this day 11 years later I still get all teary eyed...in a good way!!

I've always loved the song, "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel.

    your eyes
    the light the heat
    in your eyes
    I am complete
    in your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
    in your eyes
the resolution of all the fruitless searches
    in your eyes
I see the light and the heat
    in your eyes
oh, I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
the heat I see in your eyes

Jewelsy, I have a friend who used that in his wedding a couple of years ago. He's one of the friends who actually chose well. And Jumad - I'm late as hell on this, but I *love* that choice. I think that's just perfect!

I've been thinking of Sade's "By Your Side" lately. Anyone have an opinion on that?

aj, I love that Sade song, but I've never really listened to the lyrics. I'll have to check it out and give you an opinion after I do so

I know this an older thread, but I thought I'd share--I dedicated "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" to my sister & brother in law at their wedding . I didn't get to play any at my own, but I've always liked "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross.
