there are far fewer std's in the porn industry than in the "regular" world.
Exactly! And that's not to say that people in porn in general are more promiscuous than others. Just that one rotten apple can spoil the barrel, so to speak. In every work environment you probably have one person who engages in unsafe sex. The only difference is that in the porn industry, that person then has sex with everyone else in that work environment. Condoms are very very effective, but not foolproof.
ETA: I'm not saying Heather's not a hyppocrit, nor am I disparaging Dustin. I think he handled it fine, actually. I'm just saying that if I were Heather, I'd want to know, and I'd be upset for the aforementioned reasons.
Maybe Heather had sex with Nany to get back at Dustin? We all do stupid things when we're hurt, and I really have been impressed with her thus far.
After the May 11 episode, was anyone else happy to see someone having just a regular first date? You know, one where two people actually have dinner and non-drunken conversation instead of just getting plastered and falling into bed together. One where they actually tried to figure out what they might have in common and if they were going to be compatible. Mike and his new girlfriend seem so refreshingly normal compared to the rest of the hot messes in that cast.
And yeah, I realize Mike told an outrageous lie to that other girl in the bar, but his story about being a drug dealer with a Columbian mansion was so ridiculous, I can't believe anyone with an active brain cell wouldn't know he was lying, and I doubt he'd have been able to use it to actually bed her, even if he wanted to--and it didn't appear that he wanted to all that much. It's sort of amusing that Leroy seems much more interested in Mike "getting laid" than Mike is.
Speaking of which, I wouldn't care if they dumped the rest of the drama-ridden cast and did an odd couple comedy: Mike and Leroy Do Vegas. I don't know that I'd want to watch a full season of that, but I could watch a couple of hours of it. They're the only ones who seem to have any fun with each other at all.
Unfortunately, it looks like we're back to major drama next week. I'm wondering if Dustin goes too far finally. It looked like he flipped that chair with Mike still in it. Maybe it's not the same as hitting Mike, but it's certainly treating a roommate in a potentially physically damaging way. Didn't they debate tossing a roommate in another season because she threw a fork across the room at someone? This seemed like an even more deliberate action.
I think Cooke only apologized because she felt pressured into it. I don't really mind that she hooked up with Dustin because those girls declared ware from the very beginning. It wasn't a nice thing to do but why should she be nice? Dustin is a jerk who is just going to keep messing up over and over again. So lame.
I don't know what it is but everything is telling me that when Cooke was asked to replace an outgoing roommate (Adam), MTV told her to go in there and shake things up with the other roommates. If she agreed, then she was on the show.
Just pondering that because the roomies were so cool to her from the beginning and then slowly they warmed up and then she just goes pissing them all off by hooking up with :barf Dustin.
It does not add up that she is doing that because "she had a crush on him from the minute she walked into the suite" as she told Heather.
I once lived in a small town and worked as a bartender at a nightclub. Well, there was one girl who lived there who traveled to LA about once a month to do porn, and it was well known that she had several STDS despite all the screening they do. We actually called it Six Degrees of [girl's name] if someone was within six degrees of sleeping with her, they weren't safe to date. I still remember the first time I heard about it-a friend of mine said a guy she had crushed on for a long time finally asked her out and she had to turn him down. When I asked her why, she said "Because he told me he slept with a girl who slept with a guy who slept with [local porn star]" I laughed at first, but it was a pretty serious thing.
So no, I definitely wouldn't blame Heather for being concerned if Dustin was clean and if she does get back with him (haven't seen this week's episode yet) I hope she insists that both of them get tested before they resume a physical relationship.
As for someone asking if the condoms are still there, I think it's pretty safe to say MTV still provides those. Naomi and Leroy just didn't bother using them, for whatever stupid reason.
