Re: Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Cut Throat

Why is it every week there are clips of Laurel explaining her drunken attacks on who ever it was that week on MTV? She is pretty nasty sober, drunk she is a total slag. If she ever mouthed off at a the right guy or group of guys like she did at Big Easy last night she is looking at a major gang bang and a beating and possibly death. She is so stupid I am amazed this has not happened to her yet.

While I did feel sorry for Eric last night, and I am sure deep down he feels embarrassed and humiliated about his performance during the final Guantlet Challenge. Still it has been two years and I get the feeling he is here at this challenge for a bit of redemption. If so he should be in better shape and have lost another 35 lbs or more. I think he could look cute at 220 or so. While you can see the weight loss in his body and a bit in his face he needs to lose more. I do think he relied a bit too much on his size to protect him from going in to the individual challenges and not rely on his physical prowess like the other guys do.

Vinny -- talk about sore loser -- what an a$$. Can you imagine him and Laurel making babies. Their potential offspring would all be psycho and need to be put down at birth. Both Vinny and Laurel should be sterilized so they cannot pass on any of their DNA.

Sarah, needs to keep her big mouth shut. If she had given me that speech that she gave to Shauvon I would have given her a big FU and gone into the challenge even more determined to do well.

While, it looked as if Shauvon did lose some weight and shaped up a bit for this challenge she needs to work on her self esteem and self determination and at least tell her team mentally to back off. What Sarah said to Shauvon was incredibly selfish. Sarah doesn't care about the team, she cares about her bank account. Hopefully Shauvon will realize that or someone will tell her that.

At this point in the game I wonder at Katie getting her feelings hurt and was her response real? How many challenges has she been at? This is not the first time her team has screwed her over, or has all the alcohol she has consumed over the years burned out parts of her brain?

Ive always like Big Easy on these but in reality, he does not belong there and will always have a target on his back. He certainly did not deserve to go into the Gulag but people worry about bringing him to the end with them. He is 100% a liability. Props to him for pulling off that challenge. I didnt think he had a chance in hell with his size. Hopefully MTV will not invite Vinny back because he was such a loser. Loved Big Easy talking crap to him as he was pouting like a baby.
Speaking of not belonging, lets move on to Shavoun. Seriously, stay away next time. She couldnt even handle the actual Real World season. Now shes on her 3rd challenge and has shown nothing of being able to belong there. Sarah had every right to go after her and tell her to leave. She didnt change one bit from the last time. She totally had no shot to make that jump but at least just go in the water. Why should her team even want her around if she couldnt even do that? If youre scared of popping your disgusting implants (worst boob job ever), then you shouldnt be participating in a rigorous competition like that.

I loved Laurel on FM2 and think as a competitor she 'killed it' on that. This time around, she sucks. She is a lousy drunk and one that might want to consider going to some meetings when this is all said and done. Was Dan the dude on the Island that would get black out drunk all the time which led to him becoming sober? Thats the path Laurel needs to go down if she plans on doing another one of these. Going after Big Easy like that. Not for nothing Laurel, ive never seen any of the guys trying to get into your pants. With the amount of liquor she consumes, Im sure noone would have much work to do to get at that.

I dont know if this has been discussed yet but isnt calling the elimination thing "the gulag" a little insensitive? Wikipedia calls it a major instrument of political repression in the USSR. And also having a challenge called "the gas chamber" was a little harsh as well. I could care less about political correctness and i have no problem with either but im pretty surprised that MTV didnt take a little backlash over these things.

A major instrument of political repression is an understatement--we have no idea how many prisoners (and not just your everyday criminals) lost their lives in these horrible work camps. Unfortunately, I'm guessing MTV is relying on the fact that a lot of people won't recognize the term, are already desensitized to the point where it doesn't matter and/or just think it sounds really cool. They could have called it the "concentration camp," "Auschwitz" or "Pol Pot," but I imagine that wouldn't have gone over as well.

I find it highly inappropriate to make light of what amounted to a final destination for thousands of human beings, but it seems like when it comes to phrases related to Socialism in general (and the National Socialists--most know them as the "Nazis") everyone throws around offensive terms without blinking an eye. I cringe everytime people are called Nazis and Communists. If the twits using this terminology TRULY understood the destruction and death these groups were directly responsible for they would think twice before attaching such phrases to so many people.

And, I want to point out that I am normally with you when it comes to all the PC garbage rules, Giggity. I feel like people walk on eggshells because the media or some other arse tells them to (for example, my best friend is 'gay' and I have seen lots of articles saying that it is now considered a derogatory term,...not surprisingly, me, my 'gay' best friend, and our 'gay' posse just found out--now we know to be offended!). We are all very happy that there are more enlightened people/reporters telling us how to feel and respond. Of course, we had to alter our language but the media has spoken! And if they say that we should be offended then by golly we are! because dang it we want to be politically correct
But, in all seriousness, there are situations like the above where there is no ambiguity or misunderstandings--millions of people have been and will forever be altered by genocide and we (including MTV) should be a little more respectful.

Funny, the articles I saw said that the word "homosexual" is the derogatory term and the perferred word is "gay". Confused much?

Figures! I saw the ones that said "homosexual," too! In fact, I think some forters had a big discussion about it in one of the threads.

I actually asked some of my friends and they said they dont care and happen to use all of the terms to refer to themselves except for "f*g" (which I cant stand the sound of).

Anyone know why the after show is now only on the web and PAULA is the host? Geez, could they not do any better?

    I actually like Paula...

If you look at Eric on the Gauntlet 3 and then look at him in the current challenge, his weight loss is actually pretty visible. True, he still needs to lose more weight, but it's better that he does it slowly and healthily than all at once and not be able to maintain it. Still, he's a big guy, and to compete as well as he did on that particular challenge was impressive to me, and then to do so well in the elimination challenge was also impressive. Both were certainly not designed to be easy for someone his size. His problem for his team lies in cardio - in running. Unforunately, they're going to have no way of knowing if he can do that until the very end.

I felt sad for Katie that her feelings got hurt and it didn't make sense to me to throw her in as opposed to Theresa, who did no better and is a rookie, and a nasty piece of work to boot. But Katie needs to get her drinking temper under control.

Laurel is a disgrace. Who is that mean to someone? What kind of person feels the need to lay into someone like that with no provocation? I believe that in terms of your personality, alcohol sometimes brings out your true colors and I think this is one of those times.

Shauvon going on these challenges if she's not even going to make the slightest effort IS selfish. Her refusal to compete in either challenge was ridiculous. Effectively, she cost her team 20,000 right there.

He lost 35lbs in 2 years. That is not slow that is glacial. While I applaud any successful weight lost I would have been way more impressed with a 35 lb weight lost per year for a total of 70lbs. He said he 260 now at 225 he would be impressive.

You don't know it's two years. You have no idea when he started trying to lose weight. And I think he looks thinner this time around than last, which is what counts, don't you think? I'm impressed with a successful effort.... it's not like it's a race.

It has been 2 years since Big Easy's last challenge. Therefore it has 2 yrs and 35lbs ago.

Okay but what I was saying was you have no way of knowing when he decided to start losing weight was. It could have been when he got the call for this challenge.

Has it really been two years? He was on the Duel II... was he on the Ruins?
