I agree with you all about this season being alot more like the older seasons.

I like them all except for Chet. Something about him irks me. I think Ryan and Katelynn were amazing casting choices and kudos to whoever found them because they've brought a ton to the show!

So what did you all think about Sarah and her dad? The guy just sounded creepy to me. I wonder how he got the number....did he call MTV and say I'm her dad, can I have the number? It doesn't seem like anyone in Sarahs life would give it to him. And if thats the case....boooo to MTV.

I'm also wondering how her dad got the phone number. That was kinda creepy especially when he clearly didn't want her to know the other times he called that it was him because he was refusing to say who he was when the roomy was trying to take a message.

I didn't know of Sara's sexual abuse history before her dad called, but as soon as he spoke I thought "Ooh, he sounds like a creep."

I admire her efforts to encourage others to speak out, and I really admire her willingness to volunteer.

I'm sure he called MTV and since they already knew about her history I'm sure MTV was more than happy to oblige because they knew it would create drama. I didn't really didn't make a lot of sense though. She actually said he didn't molest her but that he tried on a camping trip or something but only after she had already been molested by a day care worker. That just seemed weird to me.

My take on it was that she had already been molested. He took her on a camping trip...just the two of them and one sleeping bag. He tried something and since having already been molested knew what he was up to and stopped it.

Whether he actually did something or just tried....I still wouldn't want to be around him or have contact with him.

I thought it was kinda strange....I dont know how I feel about the whole situation. She really didnt come out and say (unless I missed it) that he even tried anything.....just had one sleeping bag. While thats strange, it doesnt mean he was planning on molesting her? I dunno....I just dont know.
I love Sarah, I watched the aftershow for the first time, and she is just such a wonderful person. Definitely my favorite real worlder in a while.

    Re: The Real World: Brooklyn

Sarah's story was a bit weird. Don't get me wrong, she's still my favorite, but her dad never actually did anything to her. But do I blame her for getting scared? Of course not.

I think the reason why she made such a big deal about her dad bringing only one sleeping back was that she was very traumatized at that point in her life. On the After Show, she told about the encounter with the day care center guy, which was pretty explicit. If anything like that was to happen again, then she would have gotten even more scarred and more traumatized. So any small thing, like her dad bringing one sleeping bag, is going to affect her majorly.

I gotta say that I commend her with actually telling about what happened to her since unfortunately, not many victims come out publicly about what has happened to them.

    Re: The Real World: Brooklyn

i have to agree with other posters. sarah's story is just a little too dramatic for me. i do not doubt she was molested by that day care worker but the camping incident...just simply sounded like a camping incident. if he did not have full custody of her he might not have had a separate bag for her. my brother slept in the same bed with my mom for YEARS (we are talking like up to 15....) and nothing was going on.

i am sure she was just told by other people (counselors and such) about "good touch" "bad touch" and she reacted badly to something so innocent. and...from the sounds of it her mother is an enabler and helped plant the seeds of doubt in sarah's.

now...i am not happy that her dad called during the show as this should be a private matter. but i do feel for the guy. he is getting a bum rap for something he didn't do and probably didn't even THINK of doing and he has to suffer like this.

i think sarah truly has suffered in her life but sometimes she acts like she is so AWESOME for dealing with this. it is hard to explain, but it is almost like she can brag about what a STRONG person she is and how this is her true purpose in life. i am glad she wants to help others but she doesn't sound even close to moving on from her pain...so how CAN she help others?
