Um, the Constitution gives Diem the right to be an idiot and not get arrested. It doesn't get her out of being called an idiot.

Diem wanted special treatment. That's not what the competition is about. It doesn't matter who deserves it most. And you guys are being uber-sensitive about her getting criticized. No one said she's a baby-killing bum-kicker - they just said she acted ridiculously and was out of line for her rant. The same was said about Lynette when she acted like a 7 year old. Much worse has been said about Derrick.

Just because you are a fan of this reality tv character does not mean that you need to martyr her and stick her on the cross. No one is tearing your girl down - just criticizing her actions here.

If Diem (or as you call her Cancer Patient) wants to pay her hospital bills, the answer is a JOB - not an MTV challenge. Yeah, it sucks - but that's reality - not winning $125K in "exile."

I don't think we are disagreeing about the constitution, are we??

As far as being treated special, when and how has Diem demanded that she be treated special? As far as I can see she is behaving just like any Real Worlder or Road Ruler who thought they had an alliance and they found out they didn't.

She DIDN'T have an alliace with Tina at the time! She opnely admitted that she was going to put Tina into the exile against Wes if she won. She had an alliance with Darrel and Aviv that if either of their teams won they would put Wes, Casey, Tina, and Kenny into the exile. Tina got wind of it and formed a counter alliace with Wes. Tina's alliance won, put the other alliance(read: Diem's alliace) into the exile, and that's when Diem went off for not good reason. She had already turned her back on Tina, so why would Tina put a member of her alliance into the exile?

The special treatment has been explained by multiple posters multiple times. Diem wanted to put Tina into the exile, but for some reason believed in her head that Tina should not be allowed to then thry to put her in. That's demanding special treatment. Rewatch the ep and you'll see what we're talking about.

So I just can't understand how it is logical in her mind that she could then be angry at Tina for winning and putting her in instead. What's next? Sports teams getting into fights with the opposing team when they score on them? Geeze.

IT isn't a sympathy contest- everyone agrees about that. Why are people so hard on someone hoping to win the money to pay off a 60,000 dollar medical bill(and she still has more treatment to look forward to once she's home, lucky her). She was so close to possibly winning, when Tina nominated her, she saw realised that possibility was slipping away. She lashed out at Tina because of it- But, it really wan't about Tina... Diem realized she was about to lose the chance to pay off the huge, looming bill waiting for her back home. And it was about having to go back home to face the reality of her life, her illness, her bills. Her freak out wasn't about the usual drunken selfishness wich permeates the show- it was about something real and scary and overwhelming, I could see people attacking her if she was ranting about something superficial, like "ooh you stole my boyfriend Tina" but she wasn't. She was reacting to the realization she was possibly going back to her real life, her very real bills and her very real illness. Why is that so terrible and undeserving of patience and empathy?

If this is the special treatment everyone is bellyaching about then everyone who has been put into exhile or thought was going to exhile is quilty of it and Diem should not be singled out because she behaved like everyone else.

She got upset because she was sent to exhile. I quess everyone else was happy about. She yelled and cusssed at the person who sent her to exhile. This is unusual? No one else cussed and yelled at the person who sent them to exhile. Please, that is very unusally mature behavior and I rarely have seen that among the RWer's RRer's or Fresh Meat.

Diem never asked for special treatment because of her condition because she only told Derrick. I understand why she did not tell anyone. Ovarian cancer is a killer and it is obvious she has no insurance. It is also possible that some hospitals will turn her down due to lack of insurance. They are not supposed to but you would be surprised at what does happen. People act weird around people who have possibly terminal diseases. They act as if they talk to you or be near you that they will catch it from you. She is in life and death situation here and if she goes off on Tina so be it. She has a much right to that as Tina does calling her a bitch and Seriously when Tina said that it was uncalled for. I don't see anyone critiziing Tina for calling Diem anorexic. Considering how much chemo Diem has gone through I an amazed she has performed as well as she has.

I guess you never had 18 months of Chemo or radiation therapy. It makes you sick and unable to work and to blightly say go get a job is being incredibly insensitive to every single cancer patient out there. The fact that Diem was able to get on this show and perform for 5 weeks in an incredible achievement and it is hard work doing the challenges, yes they party too. But the cast also gets paid scale to be on the show so she is earning money. Also you must realize that in the future she may never be able to get health insurance to cover her cancer because it is a pre existing condition. Health Insurance Companies can be real bastards that way. So she is looking at being in debt for a long time. I cannot blame her being upset at all her hard work going to waste. I don't blame her for getting upset and God Forbid yell at St. Tina. She has never, never used her condition as a cancer patient to ask for special treatment on this show although that's what a lot of the posters on this page seem to think.

Who else (aside from Lynette - and hers wasn't was bad, because Lynette would not have put Diem in, but Diem was going to put Tina in) reacted like Diem when put into exile? I haven't seen all the episodes - so maybe there really was someone else who acted completed entitled to win the competition. From what I say - Diem was the only one to act so outraged and so out of line. She got mad at Tina for something she was planning to do herself.

Look - no one here is calling Diem a bad person. Everyone feels empathy and sympathy for anyone battling an illness, and we don't need a lecture just because you want to justify her stupid rant. Ovarian cancer is a terrible affliction - and 1 in 70 women is diagnosed with it. Most are elderly. Advanced ovarian cancer has low survival rates, but early-detected ovarian cancer does not. It is generally curable when detected early. So, I wouldn't be so quick to call it a terminal illness. Don't give the girl a death sentence.

Ovarian cancer is very hard to detect in fact I heard only recently that they may have a test for it, Ususally ovarian cancer is not detected until it is stage III or IV that is why the majority of woman die from it. Still where are you getting your facts that only elderly woman get it. Do you know what its like for you to have a lump or a bad result on a medical test and have to go to a specialist to figure out if you have cancer or not and you have to face the possiblity that you may die? Have you seen any of your family or anyone close to you die from cancer? Have you ever been in a cancer ward? If you haven't you don't know how Diem feels.

My main point about her so called 'stupid rant' is that it is not worse or better than any I have seen on any of these challenges and to single her out for it is ridiculous.

I cannot believe I am 30 years old and dissecting a real world road rules challenge character...
I saw the After Show on MTV and Derrick never said that he has not seen Diem they have kept in contact and he said she was a sweet girl.
