That's right, Real World Austin hasn't even started and there are already rumors of a new location. Here is the article:

June 13, 2005 -- THE next "Real World" appears to be headed to Key West, Fla.

On the eve of the debut of "Real World: Austin" next week come reports that MTV producers are scouting for a house on the famous Florida resort island.

Various local real-estate Web sites began putting out word over the weekend that representatives of the show were seeking a large space, close to the beach, for the latest installment of the reality soap. — Post staff writer

Key West would be a fun location. Very liberal... very free.

Only problem with Key West is that it is a one mile island. I guess to stay there for a week on vacation is fine, but to stay there for six months without a job or family it could get quite boring.

It's been confirmed by MTV. Production will begin soon, during the final months of hurricane season when the islands are much less frequented by tourists. But if a hurricane does come, the cast will uproot their world and leave real fast, with camera crews capturing the chaos every step of the way.

True that, however, seems to me that the whole premise of TRW is all about getting hammered and hooking up. So really, it doesn't matter WHERE they are, as long as there are cool bars and alcohol flowing! Key West definitely offers both of those options!

August 31, 2005 -- THE powerful and wealthy neighbors of the "Real World" house in Key West, Fla., are suing MTV to prevent the series from filming next door to their home.

Producers say they still plan to tape the reality series in the Florida Keys, despite a lawsuit filed by Key West tour mogul Ed Swift.

The show began leasing the home on June 28, and crews already have begun installing large outdoor lighting systems. — Post TV Staff

Innocent question (honestly!)... how old ARE you, Alphabet??? I thought everyone had at least heard of Key West.

But.. then again.. I thought everyone in the East/Midwest had been to Florida once in their lives. It's always quite surprising to find someone that's never been there.
