Does he have kids of his own? Would he like them exploited by his show as these kids are? I know as a parent of kids the ages of realworlders, I would feel responsible for these kids (and yes, they are still just kids - just as adults that act this way all their lives are kids that just live in grown-up bodies).
For those young people on this board, don't get me wrong I like the Real World premise - I realize that young adults drink and party (so did I) but the extremes that are now happening on a regular basis with this show was only a portion of the shows in the past.

    Underage Drinking on the Show
If you've watched the Real World: Austin on MTV, you've seen plenty of drinking at area bars, but will two underage cast members be facing charges?

They did it on TV, but law enforcement hands are tied. They say because this happened months ago, it would be too hard to make a case.

"There's a lot of plausible deniability on their part. They can say, 'Well, it wasn't really alcohol, I was just pretending to be drunk.' They can say, 'My parents were there, standing behind the camera,'" Carolyn Beck with the Texas Alcohol and Beer Commission said.

The TABC says that right now they have only four lawyers in the state to handle these cases. However, they say that the show will help lead them to the bars where they need to have stings and catch bartenders and minors in the act.

I've been finding that I tune into the first few episodes of each season to see who's cute, who's trashy, and what potential drama was in store for the house. I always hold out hope that the show will teach the housemates things, help them overcome biases, and all the good stuff that used to be a staple of Real World. I find these days, that by about the 5th episode of every season, the cast begins grating on my nerves to the point that I can no longer watch. Some seasons are worse than others, specifically that Paris season was absolutely pure torture. They were just lame. New Orleans had to be one of the best seasons I can remember, although that Julie sure turned out whacky on the Inferno series.

I am watching all of this season, just to see how my city is portrayed and shown. The 6th Street nightlife is only a small aspect of this town, and certainly not the only reason so many people love it here. I'm hoping they'll show us more of Austin soon. The SXSW festival should be interesting.

this has got to be the worst RW yet.

Melinda and Danny plot make me want to throw up.....

I think we need a gay in the mix, at least that would make it more interesting.

I agree that they do need a gay guy in the mix, hopefully when Danny leaves, they'll bring in a gay guy. There hasn't been a hot gay guy though since Real World Chicago. What can I say, I'm a straight girl who loves hot gay guys.

yea, it takes a real man to stand over some one laying of the ground and hit him, maybe he should have kicked him also, maybe he could have gotten his shotgun out of his rusty pickup truck and shot him...i hope this guy is caught and jailed...this is exactly what the rest of the country thinks about texas, redneck bubbas, which is to bad because im sure its not reflective of most texans, just a few.

The show is not about Texas. It is about "7 strangers, picked to live in a house..." That is plenty to talk about without stereotyping people or places.
