I watched the first episode and I doubt I'll be back. This show used to be about how people dealt with each other. They have always cast diverse people, but now they're not just casting people who will create drama (Puck, Tammy, Kevin NY, etc.), they're picking people who will drink a lot and want to have sex. Yes, the show has always had people drinking and hooking up, but now that's ALL they do. I just don't find that interesting and haven't for some time.

I've watched every season of The Real World but I may finally stop watching. The last few seasons haven't been all that great, imo.
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' - Isaac Asimov

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

    Seems we're together on that...

It's sad though cause when Real World is losing devout fans like us who've been watching the show since the way beginning, you would think they would realize there's a problem going on...

They are playing to the camera getting drunk and hooking up with everything. They don't act as if they are even embarassed by any of their behaviour. I can just see if they get married and during their 10th yr anniversary someone pulls out a tape and there are the family and friends and kids watching you make an ass out of yourself.

I think with shows like this on MTV that make younger kids (like 15 or 16) believe how early 20's act, it's not good for our future! There's SOOOO many STI's now and diseases... plus pregnancy. I sorta wish they would just hire another cast like the original ones that just hated each other... instead of casting a cast that they know would make out and sleep with everyone

I'm sorry... I'll stop my rant now

Nice to know that someone your age finds all of this very contrived too and not good for the younger kids coming up. Thought it was just us "old" people who felt that way. The older RW were more about the relationships of the housemates than all the drama of sex and drinking. Not a good example for the teens watching. Actually my teens don't watch it - just their old mom!! Go figure!!

I would hope they have someone reading the boards but we could voice our opinions about the show directly to their website. I think that's what I will do. Thanks for the idea!

Yuck... I can tell I'm gonna get soooo fed up and disgusted real quick with this season.

MTV is replaying the show over and over and over again I won't be able to make it to the end of the season hearing every time from Danny talking about the other girl's asses.

Ugh... I wish Real World: San Francisco was back on the air

i watched this sunday night, it's more garbage

nothing even remotely real about it, and isn't some of them 19 & 20 years old and the liquor was flowing

and what is 'hot' about melinda? they were playing some song about booty when she was walking around the house, she has a flat square butt, no real shape and probably fake tata's

in fact all them girls look horrible in a pair of jeans, johanna is a cutie but the lower body ain't right

none of the girls seem to be attracted to wes dude looks like abe from rr

danny is a buck tooth moron, and saying stuff like melinda is the hottest girl he ever met shows it

nehemiah gets attacked when he didn't even do anything, and probably won't get any play from johanna... figures

i hope the fake reality, hotubs and steady flow of alcohol was worth a fractured eye socket

About the earlier discussion, I totally agree that this show is not even close to the Real World. BRING BACK ROAD RULES, MTV!
