    Eyes Wide Shut

    Did anyone like Eyes Wide Shut? It had so much hype, but I didn't like it at all?

    I didn't like it. It was convoluted and tried too hard to be what it wasn't -- a good film. So pretentious without saying anything.

    Besides that, I have grown to dislike Tom Cruise intensely and after "Moulin Rouge" (which I detested) I am not feeling kindly disposed towards Nicole Kidman.

    Didn't like it at all.

    The pace was mind-numbingly slow for one thing.
    The story just trundled along, never really going anywhere.

    Also didn't like it...

    Either it was a case of elevated expectations, or it just stunk.

    But the cult/orgy scene was nothing if not memorable... as much for the costumes as for the haunting soundtrack.

    Yea. What they all said. Looked forward to it - was disappointed.

    I'm not saying it was a good film, however i waited until last year to see EWS on DVD, after hearing how bad it was- i had ZERO expectations and thought it was okay- which was a pleasant surprise from what i was expecting...
    it was weird to think that things (parties) like this may actually take place?? weird...
