Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a 2009 parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It is a mashup[1] combining Jane Austen's classic 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice with elements of modern zombie fiction, crediting Austen as co-author. It was first published in April 2009 by Quirk Books and in October 2009 a Deluxe Edition was released, containing full-color images and additional zombie scenes.[2] The novel was adapted into a 2016 film.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (stylized as Pride + Prejudice + Zombies) is a 2016 American comedy horror film based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith that parodies the 1813 British novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The film is directed by Burr Steers, who wrote the adapted screenplay, and stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Matt Smith, Charles Dance and Lena Headey.
The film was released by Screen Gems on February 5, 2016 in the United States,[3] and is set to be released in the United Kingdom on February 12, by Lionsgate UK. It has received mixed reviews from film critics.
Luved the book. Looked forward to the movie, the trailers looked like so much fun. Liked a lot of the scenes until I realized they changed a lot of the main plot. Why? Bit of a mixed bag. I just don't understand why you would change the basic premise of the book.
