A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.
The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johanson, and it explores the relationship between people and technology. It's pretty thought-provoking. It does run long at 2 1/2 hours, but the movie doesn't drag. The fashion is interesting in this time period, as it's very bland. Perhaps because very few people are interested in much beyond their operating systems? Samantha is the name of the operating system, and her voice makes the movie work.
Interestingly, at dinner afterward, no one in our group was using their phones.
