    Thor 2

Just saw this Friday night with my 14 yo son. We both enjoyed it a lot. Chris Hemsworth is just a big ball of yum!

Yes, Chris Hemsworth is yummy and thank you writers for the gratuitous sponge bath scene.

Hemsworth owns the character of Thor much more in this movie. I never really felt that there was any chemistry between Hemsworth and Portman in the first movie but both actors make it work in this second outing.

Luv'ed the set design, luv'ed the costume design.

Didn't recognize Christopher Eccleston (first Doctor Who of the reboot) as the leader of the Dark Elves at all. I do feel the motivation was a bit lacking as at first it was indicated he wanted to renew his poisoned homeworld and then it seemed he wanted to destroy all nine realms.

Luv'ed the touch of secondary characters such as Darcy, Ian the Intern's Intern and of course Professor Erik.

Renee Russon was fabulous as Frigga, Thor's and Loki's mom.

Idris Elba had an expanded role as Heimdall.

Antony Hopkins is the All Father.

Stan Lee of course had a sweet cameo and he still can't act.

Wait for the first extra scene after you think the movie is over and then wait ....

for the second extra scene after the credits finish rolling.

Oh, as for Loki didn't we all see that coming.

Oh, hope someone called Animal Control. Those poor sots ... he he he.

Loved this one so much more than the first Thor! This is now my favorite Avengers storyline, and can't wait to see what Loki gets up to in the next film.

And here we thought Loki was lost in the Abyss for all time. Don't forget he was adopted by the All Father and is not his natural son, no matter that Thor continues to call him brother. He is turning out to be quite the anti-hero. I can't wait for the DVD.

I know. He really landed in a soft spot. They didn't show him using his magician powers in The Avengers - were they stripped? Because his deceptions were quite useful.

Did he really need to use them when he had an invading army backing him up?

Best scene ever when the Hulk used him as a bam bam doll.

Thank you, bearcata, for the warning about the extra scenes, plural, at the end. I never know when to sit through the credits!
