I think this was going to be a hard movie to do regardless and I do like the fact that it centers on Tonto considering the character of Tonto in the tv series was more of a side kick and not seen as an equal partner. I also applaud the producers for not taking the easy way out and just make this movie a retelling of the original story and making it more of an out of the box movie.

Oh, best part of the movie was Silver the Spirit Horse and the rabbits.

I saw Depp on CBS Sunday Morning talking about this new film. He was much like I have seen him before. I'm still trying to figure it out. He was born in Kentucky and grew up in Florida. Why does he have this European accent? I know there are some Depp fans around. Do you know? It makes it difficult for me to take him seriously. I hav heard a few others take on type of accent such as Tina Turner and Madonna. Just curious.

The movie looked interesting to me. It sounds like it might be fun. I like bizarre sometimes.

Johnny Depp lives full time in the South of France, Madonna lives in England and Tina Turner lives in Switzerland. I tend to pick up accents from the places I live so it is probably the same for them.

Dh and I saw it last night and LOVED it.

We want to see it again.

    So much action.

    Depp and Hammer were awesome.

All the acting was fab and the scenery was wonderful.

    Disney did good.

p.s. And the little boy that Tonto is telling the story to is a doll.

My sister and I were discussing the rabbits, I just found then funny, she was curious as to why make them that way. Any answers?

That was the only disappointment to me. ;^) Nothing special about the ending line compared to the rest of the movie so I waited through the credits along with most of the audience but nothing more was said.

Really enjoyed the movie, and a great escape from the insufferable heat.

The rabbits were NOT what I was expecting!! Perhaps that was the point.

Probably actors are especially prone to do this...

Our local radio reviewer is OUTRAGED that the Lone Ranger is made fun of... Must have been his favorite radio show as a kid... It certainly was mine, but I'm fine with Tonto having more of a role.
