    Man of Steel

    Anyone going to see it?

Initially I wasn't going to see it as it seems there are just too many reboots spaced too close together but the trailers are looking good.

I probably will, but it isn't getting very good reviews. I never pay attention to reviews anyway.

Reviews can be a weird thing. The Critics don't like it but the audience does.

I, for one, am getting tired of a new Superman (or Spiderman) reboot every few years. I do enjoy these type of movies, but its starting to get a bit tedious. How many actors have played the role already?

I don't pay attention to critics either. It's all subjective anyway, and after all, if they really had so much more expertise than the rest of us they'd agree a lot more than they do.

On the other hand, although I did see George Reeves as tv's Superman as a child and Bud Collier on radio was before my time, Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to me. Man of Steel will probably go on my rental list at some point, but I'm not in a hurry.

    Yes, for me too.

I don't pay too much attention to what critics say, unless I sense a stinker to begin with.

I did read that the previous Superman film "Superman Returns" (2006) didn't do well because the story was based too much on the Superman movies of the 1980's. If you are going to do a reboot create your own version.

    I gave it a 7 out of 10.
    • Henry Cavill is - how do I saw this - HOT!!!!!
    • I thought Amy Adams was too old to play Lois with Henry as Clark/Superman.
    • I love Russell Crowe in almost anything . . . he was perfect as Jor-El.
    • I couldn't understand the conversation between Superman and Lois in a critical scene (mumbling).
    • No one from Kansas will run toward a tornado to save a dog.
    • Too many battle/destruction scenes for my taste.
    • It was LOUD.

But I love Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, CSI, Law and Order and West Wing . . . and as a spiritual person, I enjoyed the symbolism.

Now would a dog or any animal for that matter ever run toward a tornado? I thought animals had a sixth sense and knew when to run and hide?
